Orkut should support blogs

I've been playing with the social networking site Orkut. Like a lot of people who should have better things to do with their time. It occurred to me that I'd get a lot of benefit if users were allowed to hook up their blogs' RSS feeds into the system.

The idea being that when you visit a person's profile page you could see links to their latest blog entries as well. If you subscribed to them, you could get new blog entries popping up in your Orkut message center. Orkut needs this kind of integration if it's going to get past the point of pretty toy.

Of course, it's a centralized implementation of what we hope to achieve with things like FOAF and additional client-side smarts. I'll be showing Dashboard doing a few things like that at next week's O'Reilly ETech conference.
